The supermarket shelves are packed with the classic buns, walking down the aisle one can find a whole section of pre-packed hamburger buns. Of course there is the classic plain bun, and then there are a couple sprinkled with sesame seeds or poppy seeds. We also find more and more whole-wheat buns thus making healthier eating part of our everyday diet.

But next time you go to the supermarket why not take a stroll to the bread department and look around for different kinds of bread to try with your burger? There is the Ciabatta, it is Italian bread, usually square formed, the bread roll which gives has a sweater taste, the Kaiser bread also called a Vienna roll is a typically crusty round bread roll, originally from Austria. Nowadays we also see a lot of pretzel buns, these are a bit saltier so it is better to put less salt in the meat with this bun. Finally there is the pumpernickel bread; it is made with rye flour instead of wheat flower which has a much higher concentration of dietary fibers.
